Federazione Italiana Canoa Kayak (FICK) is the association organising and promoting all the activity and competitions in the various paddling disciplines in Italy. Specifically, it takes care of two Olympic disciplines (Sprint and Slalom) and other canoeing disciplines like wild water, sailing canoe, sea kayak. FICK is recognised and controlled by CONI (Italian Olympic Committee), while it is affiliated to the International Canoe Federation (ICF) and the European Canoe Association (ECA). The Italian Federation has 16.000 licensed active paddlers aged between 8 and 60 years old. FICK comprises 280 clubs, and coordinates 65 national competitions and around 30 regional events, each year.

Scuola dello Sport is part of Sport e Salute Spa, the in-house company of the Italian Ministry of Finance constituted with the law 30 December 2018 n. 145 (CONI Servizi Spa until 2018) whose aim is the development of sport in Italy, producing general sport services in favor of the sports world and the sport community. The School of Sport is the structure in charge of education of different professional figures operating in the Sports world, with particular reference to National Sport Federations, Associated Sport Disciplines, Regional Schools of Sport, and of the development of projects of applied research to Sport. Moreover, the School of Sport, by offering its skills to the market, thanks to its specialized expertise is the reference structure in technical and managerial sport education. A unique reality which is synonymous of excellence; it is a privileged Environment that contributes to making Sport e salute- ever more – a global reference model.

Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (SSSA) is a leading university dedicated to good governance and CSR aspects and leads related actions in the sports world. Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies itself as a reference both in Italy and abroad and is part of the EUA (European University Association) as an "individual full member". The high level of research of the SSSA is recognized by international rankings. Within SSSA, the Institute of Management is active in the field of management in the context of private and public organizations. Within the Institute of Management there is Sustainability Management Research Group-SuM that has the mission to study and suggest new approaches to environmental management both in Italy and at the European level, supporting private and public organizations, firms and public Local Authorities. Within the group on Sustainability Management, there is a specific sub-area dedicated to Sport Sustainability Management. The SSSA research group has relevant experience obtained through the implementation of several EU projects. In particular, all members of the research team have been involved in previous experimental projects.

The International Canoe Federation (ICF) is a membership organisation that is responsible for the global sport of canoeing, recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), Global Association of International Sports Federations, (GAISF) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). Its disciplines include Paracanoe, Canoe Sprint, Canoe Ocean Racing, Dragon Boat, Canoe Marathon, Stand Up Paddling, Wildwater canoeing, Canoe Polo, Canoe Slalom, Canoe Freestyle and Extreme Canoe Slalom. On 19 January 1924 the Internationale Repräsentantenschaft Kanusport (IRK) was formed in Copenhagen, Denmark, and it became the ICF in 1946. ICF comprises 5 Continental Associations (CA) and 171 National Federations (NF). ICF aims to provide leadership and a sustainable framework for global development of paddling sports, this includes the delivery of international competitions.

The Croatian Canoe Federation (CCF) promotes the welfare of the Croatian Canoe sport in Croatia and represents Croatia in international relations for all kayak disciplines. The main task of the Federation is to coordinate the development and promotion of all kayak disciplines that fall under the definition of discipline Canoe and kayak in the Republic of Croatia: sprint, slalom, wildwater, marathon, canoe polo, rafting and other disciplines recognized by the International Canoe Federation. CCF also coordinates recreational and educational programs as well as technical training of members through seminars, courses and schools in repairing and maintaining boats and other equipment for the efficient organization of all types of competition and environmental conservation of water and other surfaces. The Federation is a founding member of the Croatian Olympic Committee and the Croatian Association for Technical Culture. The Federation has 20 affiliated clubs (19 clubs and Zagreb Kayak) and 1138 member. CCF have successfully organized 13 international canoe events and a number of official international competitions.

Kajakaska Zveza Slovenije (KZS) is the is the national governing body of all canoeing and kayaking sport disciplines in Slovenia. It coordinates and supervises the organization of competitions in these disciplines, and associated training program for all levels, from school sport education to high performance sport and sport for all. The Federation has 28 affiliated and 1000 members. It organizes 46 competitions annually.

The Hellenic Canoe-Kayak, SUP, Surfing Federation (HCKF) is the national governing body for sport of canoeing, SUP and SURF in Greece. It coordinates and supervises the organization of competitions in these disciplines, and associated training program for all levels, from school sport education to high performance sport and sport for all. HCKF counts 67 clubs among its members, totaling 1089 athletes and about 50 non-competitive registered people (staff-coaches-judges-board member). Annually, the Federation organizes and manages 11 National Championships and 10 club events.
